Very exciting. The new
@citywestminster.bsky.social enterprise centre on Lisson Grove is almost ready. It's managed by Arbeit Studios and and has low cost workspace for local SMEs. Opens January. arbeit.org.uk/lissongrove

C'est une arnaque à l'escargot. Talking snails and business rates with @tf1info.bsky.social this morning.

On @bbclondon.bsky.social this morning talking about the snail farm business rates scam. The single craziest things I've seen as a councillor since the Marble Arch Mound.

A delight to join the Soho Neighbourhood Forum and assorted local luminaries for the launch of the Soho Heritage Map. This new map lists 700 items of interest in London’s busiest village. heritagemap.planforsoho.org

Proud to launch @citywestminster.bsky.social Social Value Impact Report - £10.3m invested locally, 467 jobs & apprenticeships created, and 14,000 free breakfasts for families. Thanks to all our private sector partners helping us build Fairer Westminster. www.westminster.gov.uk/fairer-econo...

It’s great to see @citywestminster.bsky.social
investing in cricket at Paddington Rec with work underway to relay the outfield refurb the nets.

We were sorry to lose I Camisa from Old Compton Street but the new tenant is doing great business. This is the queue at All’Antico Vinaio and it’s not even lunchtime.

It's was a delight to kick-off the renovation of Grosvenor Square - improved drainage, planting, biodiversity, toilets etc. Many thanks to Grosvenor but it's rather obvious I live in a flat and don't know how to hold spade. The Lord Mayor is much more professional.

I'm really pleased with the new mural on Harrow Road. It's opposite Queens Park Library and is the first part of @citywestminster.bsky.social improvements to the little park by the canal. We're also planting that area of hardstanding by the wall to deter tagging and other ASB at this location.

I'm really pleased how the first phase of Westminster Council’s Harrow Road Shopfront Improvement Programme has worked out. We've brought fresh paint, bespoke signage, and new facades to over a dozen independent shops.

The new Whiteleys development opens (at long last) this year, bringing a major hotel, new shops, and an Everyman cinema.

This morning I had the pleasure of opening the Whiteleys Jobs Fair, a great opportunity to make sure local residents are first in line for the new roles on offer.

Speaking to ITV news yesterday about the opening of the new Ikea store at Oxford Circus. The restaurant offering 12 meatballs, mash, peas and gravy for £6.75 is likely to be even more popular than the furniture.

Talking about the future of the West End's economy yesterday at the @holba.bsky.social conference with Cllr Iman Less, @citywestminster.bsky.social nighttime champion. Customers are changing and policy needs to change too. More experience-led, high quality venues. Less vertical drinking.

We want Maida Hill to be a space for all of our communities. Today, it was Morocco’s food and music. And nice to bump into @rhook.bsky.social and Rhys Thomas too.

We walked around Paddington Green & Stone Wharf with local residents getting feedback on our improvement plans. The biggest cheer was for turning Sarah Siddons around to face the park. She's been staring at the Westway since Paddington Town Hall was demolished in 1965.

If you're passing Stone Wharf or Rembrandt Gardens, take a look at our plans to improve the area. We're looking to create a new walking route from Warwick Avenue to Paddington along the canal.

The new flower beds at Maida Hill are looking lovely in the spring weather. But they are not just decorative, the plants sit on top of sustainable drainage systems that reduce the risk of flooding.

It was a pleasure to launch Westminster's new nighttime strategy this week at an event hosted by the RSA. Public safety is our number one priority but we also need to make sure that Westminster After Dark meets the needs of modern Londoners.

Oxford Street is bursting to life with Pear blossom. It’s lovely to see but won’t last long. Blink and you’ll miss it.

The Harrow Road shopfront improvement programme is in full swing. The first couple are finished including Lanes Jewellers, the longest serving trader on the street. Another example of @citywestminster.bsky.social investing in our neighbourhood.

The new Community Hub at Ernest Harris House on Elgin Avenue is looking good. It opens in a couple of weeks in long-vacant basement and is a great example of @CityWestminster investing in our neighbourhood.

I'm very pleased @CityWestminster has got the rogue builders on Kilburn Park Road to remove their rubbish. We were getting rats. Eeeew. Council officers are investigating an enforcement notice on the rest of this delapidated building.
