I think young people in America could really benefit from listening to more Clash, early Elvis Costello, 2Tone Ska, Sex Pistols and other 70s UK Punk.
There's so much today that rhymes and echoes the UK in the late 70s and early 80s.

TIL that in WA State, you can make a left turn from a two way street onto a one-way street... *at a red light*!!! What insanity is this?
I've never seen anyone actually *do* this.
Everywhere else I've driven, left-on-red is only allowed for one-way to one-way (stop and go like going right on red).

Well that was a first. Had to deplane off my SFO to SEA via a ramp and then walk in the rain on the tarmac.

Was just at #MoPOP last weekend (designed by Frank Gehry) the day after he died (didn't know it at the time). And then I'm loading up #Battlefield6 and noticed... He's referenced in one of the main locations in one of the maps...

I didn't realize it when I moved out here, but there are a *lot* of game studio and game studio employees out here in north east King County (in/around Redmond). Unions are strong in the Puget Sound/Seattle area (thanks to Boeing etc). Wonder if we'll see more here locally in the game space.
doom creator id software just became the latest microsoft studio to unionize. though the neutrality agreement that has allowed CWA to organize so many studios recently lapsed, id devs told me that only applies to activision blizzard for now

We are definitely going to see historic flooding this week in the Snoqualmie valley (and along the Cascade foothills).
But flooding is a part of life here, and when it's *not* historic levels, most people live with it (and the farms *need* it).
Flood plain planning is a thing that works.

Even the NYT is unable to avoid using at least 1 term painting Trump in the bad light he deserves to be put in.
The more he shows his true self, I think the weaker his support gets (except of course among those who share his racist views)... bracing for more.
