Have a happy new year!

I’m quite literally citing the bill that you used as your specific example, and using it to quantitatively disprove your claim. I think you’re the debate lord.

Agreed. And 213 too many republicans. So stop making false equivalencies for social media clout.

And read the CEC’s press release on the passage. A caucus of most House democrats. equality.house.gov/cec-condemns...
CEC Condemns Passage of Trans Youth Healthcare Criminalization Bill
After the House of Representatives passed Marjorie Taylor Greene’s bill to throw parents and doctors who provide lifesaving, medically-necessary healthcare to young trans people in prison, Congression...

213* republicans for it.

So yes, I condemn Don Davis, Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez for voting for it. And I praise all 207* democrats for voting against it.

I was wrong. Only 3 democrats voted for it. 207 republicans voted for it.

I’m pretty sure all but 8 democrats voted against that bill. Maybe it was more than 8, but it was still a minority of the Dem caucus who sided with the transphobes. So you’re losing your own argument. Please stop perpetrating a false equivalency. That’s why I’m upset with OP. 🫡

And then follow up: what would an adequate/good politician on Trans issues look like? What should we be asking of those elected officials to do that they aren’t currently doing? Genuine question. If better is possible we should ask for it.
December 29, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Are there any Democrats in Congress that you feel are adequate (or better than adequate) on Trans rights? Are there any Republicans in Congress — or MAGA affiliated nonelecteds that you think are adequate/good on Trans rights?

And are there other salient issues to you that you consider when voting?
December 29, 2025 at 9:17 PM
I would absolutely push back on the claim that MAGA and Democrats are equally bad on the issue of Trans rights/dignity, though. Take the worst elected Democrat on the issue, probably someone like Henry Cuellar, and they’d still be better than almost everyone in the Republican caucus.
December 29, 2025 at 9:09 PM
I support Trans rights and any Democrat or left-aligned independent who doesn’t support Trans rights is a bigot, a coward, or ignorant.
December 29, 2025 at 9:05 PM
MAGA is much worse than milquetoast mainstream liberalism, which is worse than bold progressivism. That’s my stance. I imagine most folks on here agree with me, and I imagine those who say they don’t enjoy the attention they receive online too much to rethink that position.
