Looking back, I think what upsets me most about it is how Shrier kept insisting on ‘respecting’ trans people, but only the ones who transition as adults

Every page I had to stop and notate some fucked-up little turn of phrase and that was when I wasn’t rolling my eyes at Abusive Dad #5 bemoaning how his ‘little girl’ won’t talk to him anymore (said little girl being a grown man in his 20s in most cases)
