Bit of an impasse there then. The only Ukrainian leader that Putin would regard as 'legitimate' in one who is pro-Russian.

The Ukrainians are never going to elect a pro-Russian leader and the Russians lack the capacity to impose one on the Ukrainian people.

1) Even if true, it'd have no bearing on either who would win an election or on their politics.

2) The suggestion is that US support would continue if an election were held.

3) The US no longer provides funding to Ukraine, and European NATO is taking an ever-more active role in providing intel.

Care to elaborate?

You mean that their are other candidates who are likely to win an election other than Zelensky and Zaluzhnyi? Or that you think Zaluzhnyi might be more inclined to make concessions to Putin?

As I understand it, the only person with enough support to beat Zelensky is Zaluzhnyi, who is likely to be far less willing to compromise with Putin.

The Lords needs reform, sure, but it's not really that bad.

Move to the right?

The hard left hand made it clear that they won't vote Democrat, even if the alternative was putting Trump back in office. Trying to appeal to the centre-right is the only logical thing for Dems to do.

Barack Obama, famously unlikeable and unpopular politician.

Good game overall, but it could've been so much better with a bit more work.

To overthrow a hostile dictatorship that exports a negligible quantity of drugs to the US, turning it into an anarchic failed state that will absolutely become a breeding ground for cartels exporting massive amounts of drugs to the US, thereby helping us to win the War on Drugs.

Make it make sense.

OK, but why would you want to understand the lived experience of millions of people (sprinkled with some maths to make sure no demographic group is over- or underrepresented) when you could focus on *my* lived experience in particular?

Is he not simply motivated by the belief that if US-Russia relations are normalised, he'll be able to make a bajillion dollars in real estate deals with Russian oligarchs?

I wish I could believe that, but nothing about the current Congress convinces me that they'd be willing to stand up to Trump.

FFS. How are we still in the situation that the European defence industry is still struggling to manufacture stuff?

Can you recommend any reading on the subject?

I'm sure there's lots of issues I'm missing, but in a world where CIWS are so prevalent on warships, I don't understand why similar technology can't be applied to land-based armoured vehicles.

The weird thing is that even Trump had to do the whole "we'll be going after hardened criminals" schtick in the run-up to the election.

Refusing to distance yourself from ICE while we can see them arresting kindergardeners and body-slamming random US citizens doesn't seem like smart politics.

Because she enjoys LARPing as a member of a secret underground revolutionary movement that is being actively pursued by the regime's security services.

The only other reason you'd bother with this is if you're the kind of idiot who attends a protest to smash up a Starbucks and fight the cops.
