Yeah, your first few **proper** OSM edits (with iD, JSOM, etc.) are scary as hell. But the community is (usually) very good at reverting newbie problems and explaining what you did wrong, and usually eager to help. Once you get over that hurdle... sky is the limit!

Huh, Mastodon just alway seemed to be real bad at it, even when I ran my own 1k user instance and tried everything to improve it. It just never worked properly at all.

It seems to actually fetch the on-the-fly, whereas Mastodon does some weird caching thing in the background, and even then, it'll only grab a handful of posts at random.

tbf, Threads seems all but ready to dump fediverse integration anyways. they only did it in the first place because it was the cool-thing-at-the-time. we're still waiting on tumblr's ActivityPub support too.
