Over the years, multiple events brought the monument to life again, from techno concerts (slide 13), music live sets, to concept arts and sets for movies (slide 9 & 11), proving how the uniqueness and typical Yugoslav style make this piece of architecture timeless.

After years of construction, financed by the Socialist Republic of Serbia, the city of Belgrade, and local municipalities, "The Spark of Freedom" was finally completed and unveiled to the public on July 2nd, 1971.

Arised from an architectural prize established in march 1969 by SUBNOR veterans organization to commemorate the Kosmaj Detachment for its efforts during the People's Liberation Struggle in World War II. this monument was designed by sculptor Vojin Stojić and architect Gradimir Medakovic.
