Eugene Robinson, 45 year veteran of the Washington Post and Pulitzer Price winner, has called it quits. Robinson's last day was yesterday. He cited the shift in the paper's editorial policy implemented by owner Jeff Bezos as the reason for his departure.

Global equity markets are in free fall and turmoil because of the Trump Tariff Tirade. US markets alone lopped of $2 trillion on Thursday, 4/3//25. And Trump can't resist the howling call of Saudi Arabian money and some Springtime golf.
President Donald Trump left the White House for Florida on Thursday and dined with leaders of the LIV Golf tour that evening.

What and intriguing situation Ka$h Patel faces. I'm guessing NOTHING will come of this from the FBI...Congress maybe, but not the FBI.
Kash Patel is sitting next to Gabbard and Waltz right now in their Senate hearing... someone better ask him - are you going to investigate the two jackasses sitting next to you?

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard looks like a college sorority president explaining the hazing and booze filled party that got too loud. If there is ever a prize for "Best Guilty Facial Expression" MS. Gabbard should win hands down.

About the National Security breach...The only way to blame this national security breach on DEI is to redefine the acronym.

D=Dumb
E=Extreme
I=Ignorance

Unfortunately, the journalist is the only one likely to face charges. The big issue is the NatSec group using non-secure comms outside of a SCIF.

Tiger Woods took to social media to announce to his millions of followers that he's in a relationship with Vanessa, the ex-wife of Donald Trump, Jr. Woods wrote of love and how great life is. He closed by asking for PRIVACY from the millions who saw his post. Wouldn't if have been...oh, never mind.

More Science, more scientists. Fewer idiots, less ignorance.

And I applaud your capitalization of the word Science, just sayin.'
At the moment, mansion-sized Asteroid 2024-YR4 has a one-in-fifty chance of hitting Earth in the next eight years.

Now might be a bad time to reduce spending on Science. Just sayin’.

Just so everyone is clear about Elon Musk and his thinking. Musk posted on X that Adolf Hitler didn't murder anyone; rather it was German government employees.Take a moment to consider what would have happened if an official in the Obama-Biden or Clinton-Gore administrations had said such a remark.
March 13, 2025 at 10:58 PM
Well said...and a strong perspective written without fear. We need more boldness like this, not less.
Let it be said. Our government and the people who work for it are not a waste or a fraud. They are a modern goddamn miracle.

If Elon Musk doesn’t like a government that serves all the people, he is welcome to build a time travel machine and return to Apartheid South Africa.

Fearful, certainly. Bezos is probably going to turn the once vaunted WashPost into a daily advertising rag for the current President...his position, his interests, and all the concealment readers can stomach.
"It’s craven. He’s basically fearful of Trump."

Marty Baron, former executive editor of the Washington Post, interprets what Jeff Bazos announced this morning. open.substack.com/pub/zeteo/p/...

Mr. Menn, I shudder at your naivete. Bezos is not going to stop at the Opinion Page with directing language and points of view. It's only a matter of time until you get the memo in your inbox which limits the actual words, phrases, and sources you can use in your hard news stories. You'll see.
I understand why some are cancelling Washington Post subscriptions. I personally would not, and I hope you don't. The opinion pages are changing. Nothing has happened to the news report, which is both good and crucial. If the owner interferes with that, you will definitely hear about it. Thanks.

From national treasure to national disgrace in one brief email...Bezos broke his promise to the WashPost staff and its loyal readers. I will be joining the tidal wave of subscribers in tapping the CANCEL button.

Long ago in a World History class I took, the professor said something that stuck with me. He said, "Never forget...the first three letters of the word 'Imperial' are IMP." Seems to still have value and usability after all these years.

Macho Man Enrique Tarrio was arrested for assault by US Capitol Police after he slapped a woman who was making a video of him at a Proud Boys rally in public. Any guess as to how much time before Trump issues a pardon for the Proud Boys leader...again?

This is very serious for rural citizens and "shut ins" who have transportation and mobility issues. Call, email, and text your elected officials at the Federal, State, and Local level. Noise draws attention...loud noise leads to action.

The passengers and crew were lucky on this one. With the Aviation Safety Board out of the picture under Trump's direction, only a fool would fly on a domestic airline these days.

Mr. Corn, you are, in fact, quoting Hemingway...sort of. The full quote is from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar...Act II, Scene 2. Hemingway did some editing and rewriting, and chose not to attribute the quote and its original author.
NEW: Hemingway said, "The coward dies a thousand deaths, the brave but one." As I write in the latest issue of my OUR LAND newsletter, this well describes the GOP. Each day, we see another of its deaths.
