Well, I was only signing in to post this photo anyway. So you can have it, too

Even most countries with universal healthcare have some form of copay or out of pocket expense. Look at the French and German models. Or the prevalence of private insurance to supplement Medicare in Australia.

It's not a binary between the US' broken system and "free to consumer at all points."

Double so for short-form media forms. Bluesky/Twitter/Threads all have tight character limits. Impossible to have any real nuanced discussion.

Fish here:

Anyone have a good home remedy for treating gunshot wounds? I'd go to the hospital, but I am stuck in this barrel.

Hosting guests I can do.

And betting odds are like.... 5:1 I get someone who isn't dangerous at all. With half of the "1" side of that being folks I could easily take in a fight anyway.

There must be an error - I absolutely had that feature added to my account, and I still don't see anything.

Is this surprising to anyone?

The cope is so overwhelming on the right.

Think the resignations alone are now higher than the typical rate incumbents would lose a re-election year.

Biggest upside: If the American Fascist Party was that sure it could rig the elections properly, they wouldn't be so obviously-scared to face their voters in said elections.

Always worth the wait. Thanks for the yuletide present, Dan!

Been saying from day one that even *if* Clinton's as bad as I suspect (I for one am still doubtful he's going to come out of this deserving less than a noose), that he is uniquely positioned to "fall on his sword" for the good of the Republic.

Tell *everything* he knows publicly. Force the issue.

Okay, they have to give you the checkmark now, right? You're the official bluesky mascot or something.

Good by policy? I don't hold anyone from the GOP to that standard since Eisenhower. Nixon had some good moments, like the EPA, but was more harm than good.
Reagan was a good rhetorician. I can acknowledge that without saying he had good economic policies. Or foreign policies. Et cetera.

His "Tear Down This Wall" Speeches, and campaigning on America as the "City on a Hill" weren't dog-whistle racism. And that's the stuff most people remember.

Again - not disputing his actual policies sucked. Just highlighting that his hagiography plays well in middle America.

My take? Reagan is well-remembered by far more than he deserves to be. Also, for all his many, MANY policy failures, the man talked a good game about America as an aspirational place.

Citing Reagan is marketing to the low-info voters that prop up Trump's whole grift.

DHS and ICE are the enemy of everything good and American and the entire agency needs to be torn to shreds and the ringleaders need to rot in prison as betrayers of the most fundamental principles of this nation
