ETS-2. Darauf sollte Deutschland in den nächsten Monaten viel Engagement verwenden.

If China’s carbon emissions peak it would be a game changer. Let’s hope that these are the early signs of this happening.

Eben.

UK struggles to keep up with clean energy subsidy race of US, EU & China. Esp. the volumes.

Wild idea: What about a close UK-EU cooperation here?

I don't think waiting until the next UK election in 2025 helps agains the U.S.' first-mover advantage...

FDP promised spending cuts to their voters anyway, but will also be made responsible due to controlling the finance ministry.

Great. What happens if the German government runs out of money before the coalition parties settle on a mix of spending cuts and raised taxes? Some sort of German shutdown... Which coalition party will face higher pressure?

Indeed, political processes play such a key role for the passing and the success of effective climate policies. The interaction of the climate issue with other policy dimensions is one of them.

I often see this comparison of glaciers on Svalbard posted without attribution. It’s from a whole series comparing photos taken by the Norwegian Polar Institute in 1928 and by Christian Åslund, a Stockholm-based photographer, in 2002. See the others here:
