It's more a less a simple filter: finding edges, simplifying and smoothing its shapes and lines, tuned to the picture and personal taste - then blended with the original to maintain a natural look. I, sometimes, love abstraction, deconstructing and reconstructing what I see. 🌀

rose hips seen through a pinhole

Pinhole lenses make objects at varying distances, from very close to infinity, appear "pin sharp" (as opposed to "tack sharp") and create a subtle glow. Who needs macro when you can chase the pinhole glow? 😇🎃

These are not #ICM, but rather static pinhole pictures taken using a horizontal/vertical slit-shaped pinhole lens.
The first is *clearly* a flashy Ferrari, the second is *obviously* trees.

You're right, the whole analog, hands-on experience of creating your own camera from scratch is limited by the constraints of a fixed size, fixed focal length digital platform. Hence my experiments with different shapes of holes on a rotatable platform, sth that currently doesn't exist commercially.

The pinholes are of different sizes and shapes, slits and combinations of them. Out in the field I can exchange them within seconds, perfect for experimenting and getting creative.

I found an old slide tray, attached it to a lens mount using a screw ring, so in effect I have a rotatable pinhole platform.
The pinhole plates are put in film slide holders, newer iterations with glass protection, so dust and weather are kept out.

It is digital. Dust is an issue - it's always an issue with digital - but I think I found an acceptable solution in further iterations of my pinhole contraptions.
