Yeah, it's meant to show the 2nd invasion as a kind of rapid barrage of tons happening at once. I think this pacing fits the narrative pretty well, especially with the anime additions. Some of the fights we've gotten this cour were originally just 2-4 pages, so technically this is slower

More than that, Kubo's paneling for the manga is pretty tight, but the original anime is a bit sloppy in it's adaptation of it, probably as a means to stretch for time. TYBW arc has matched Kubo's style better in that regard

It makes me wish for a remaster of the whole series to this standard of adaptation
