thanks a lot for posting about all of these things and chatting with folks openly 🧡 love to see these threads, so much knowledge being shared!

neat! 🧡

out of curiosity: are there any problems with ambiguity? when you have a path between pose A and pose B, is the lowest-energy transition always obvious and computationally easy to find? how stable is it - if you wiggle one endpoint, is it possible to find sudden flickers in the solved path?

at one point i worked at a company with some smartphones in racks for CI testing purposes. our team learned quickly to apply scissors to cheap cables someone else had bought in bulk (like nearly counterfeit level of bad, just a few strands of wire per cable). cost savings vs trips to the server room

yeah

there's also a lot of variation in cable quality and durability. way too much shoddy stuff out there in the name of making things as cheap as possible

yeah i think a part of it is that we use the connectors so much more than before

kinda like phone batteries, they haven't become smaller over the past two decades, we've just grown to expect so incredibly much more from them than just texting and calls

Anyways, I think what I am trying to say is... do things, talk to people, and meet people! Not just on Discord, but in real life. I know not everyone can do this feasibly, but please if you can, DO IT. I have found the world more welcoming than you would think.

The internet is not real life.
