I don't think it's just nostalgia everyone's feeling, I think people are sincerely lonely. And not just young white men, who are not special. I think all kids, gender aside, want to spend the next few years talking shit to their friends on used dirtbikes without surveillance.

Nah. People were like this before "social media platforms" even existed, plenty of shit like this went down on USEnet and message boards and weblogs. There's no "viral algorithm" blasting into people's minds and puppeting them into rage-zombies, that's just how people *are*.

The cynics think today's attack on Venezuela is staged and transactional. Maduro is allied with Putin, but in 2019 Putin offered Trump a swap: Russia cedes Venezuela and gets Ukraine. (See Fiona Hill's testimony in Trump's first impeachment trial, h/t @davetroy.com). Even Maduro may be in on it. 2/
