Inwiefern antisemitisch?

Happy to oblige! Tsitsi Dangarembga: Aufbrechen / Verleugnen / Überleben (trilogy); Abdulrazak Gurnah: Nachleben; Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: Die Hälfte der Sonne. Keep up the good work!

Bill Kristol ist längst nicht mehr der, der er bis vor zehn Jahren war; der klingt jetzt schon seit langem sehr vernünftig.

They have all been translated to German, so... But sure, if we focus on English, then they don't qualify. Still, I always like to recommend them wherever I can. ;-)

Definitely Tsitsi Dangarembga‘s trilogy (Nervous Conditions, The Book of Not, This Mournable Body); also enjoyed Afterlives by Abdulrazak Gurnah. Half of a Yellow Sun is already an established classic I guess.

When AI is coming for me, I‘ll be safe in my maze. Hope indeed!

I think it‘s been fairly apparent for years that you can pretty much ignore all the highfalutin right-wing principles; in the end it‘s always just power for us and not for them. That‘s all.

The really weird thing is that they completely skip over the fact that NATO should guarantee that Greenland is as well defended as Alaska or New York City.
January 17, 2026 at 9:44 AM
Dass jetzt Soldaten aus anderen NATO-Staaten quasi als menschliche Schutzschilde vor Ort sind, ist sicher ein kluger Schachzug, ja.
January 16, 2026 at 11:27 AM

I don't disagree, but the real issue is not the actions of one individual, but the willingness of most politicians and citizens to ignore the inconvenient truth about Russia. When a politician of the Green Party tried to highlight the problems before the 2020 elections, she was ridiculed.
January 11, 2026 at 4:45 PM
Come on, I see no reason to distrust Mikhail Bulgakov (a random Russian that came to mind) because he was Russian... And maybe the West should have tried a different approach to Russia to make the comeback of the KGB and the rise of the oligarchs less likely.
January 11, 2026 at 1:41 PM
The differences are more instructive than the similarities here imo. The invasion of Eastern European countries threatening to break away from your sphere of influence was quite rational from the pov of a ruthless Soviet ruler.
January 11, 2026 at 1:36 PM
The current American actions are more baffling - basically driving your allies away from you, the opposite of what the USSR did, out of motives less obvious and seemingly irrational.

Well, Putin was certainly never the "democrat without blemish" Schroeder claimed to see in him, an authoritarian to the core. Yet twenty years ago both his aggression towards neighbouring countries and the repression at home were far less glaring then they are now.
January 11, 2026 at 1:23 PM
Alright, did overlook that. My bad...
January 11, 2026 at 12:14 PM
He certainly set a vile precedent back in the day - a former head of government of a democratic nation selling out to an autocrat, even if Putin twenty years ago didn't look quite as vile as he does now.
January 11, 2026 at 12:04 PM
But being in the running for biggest traitor of the 20th century? Come on, there are plenty of utterly shameless American traitors to the constitution and traditional values of their country...

I run 28 as well as both Cabal lands.

Great, thanks, should probably seek that out!

I have quite the soft spot for Wanli (Ming), so what about that quote? Is it real?
November 6, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Just did and yep, well worth one‘s time, thanks!

Trump is not a politician whose words have meaning. Expect contradictory babbling soon.
