I am not really surprised, to be honest. Outside of some tiny slivers of entertainment, most media is squarely aimed at male demographics.

I like to believe that the strikes have empowered creatives everywhere to embrace the fact that without them, there is no entertainment and so they need to be paid well for their work.

Yes. I quite enjoyed season 1. I was staring to get tired of the brooding boy stereotype that Gundam protagonists usually are. 😆 I really enjoyed Suletta’s naive excitement.

I don’t know, it doesn’t sound desperate to me. Or stupid. Life is difficult and it’s ok to do things that make us happy. For some backwards reason, society has conditioned us to think that taking joy from anything “non traditional” is somehow bad.

I avoided buying any anime on VHS. In my smallish city it was virtually impossible to find.

100% I don’t think technologies are inherently good or evil. That requires human input, and the types that can afford the resources to properly take advantage of the technology are often either blatantly ignorant or genuinely terrible.

In early 2002, I spent 80 dollars on a DVD release of Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. 😆 I am no stranger to the sometimes ludicrous prices anime can be.
