I even grew up enjoying learning about public transit but it took me that long to realize it wasn't just something you used when you didn't want to deal with parking but was actually better to use for everything if it got funded properly.

Honestly this sounds very similar to my progression as someone who also grew up in the suburbs. It took me going to college and only having public transit and my bike to realize that I didn't really need a car and that biking and transit were really nice.

Except there's nothing the city can do if they operate out of a hotel like they've done before. The facility in Portland was closed for a bit with the protests and it didn't seem to heavily slow them down from abducting people.

I'll be sad to lose the genuinely cool stores that are in there now but yeah when I went it was completely dead so even though I'll miss it it's probably for the best. My selfish hope is that it's around long enough for me to be able to afford to buy a lightsaber.

As someone in Washington County right now I will definitely be checking out if I can get a place in Multinomah County once I have the money to get my own place cause stuff like this is great.

I feel like the focus on revoking the permit is kind of weird, if you're gonna ask the city to do something it legally can't do why not ask them to do something cooler like having the police physically stop ICE agents from abducting people? Like if you're asking for something illegal go all the way.

Never because all these giant companies are too big to completely collapse, at most they'll lay off 1000s screwing over the people working there and move on with basically zero conveniences.
