That could very well be end goal for nefarious architects of this administration, but support will erode pretty quickly

They are dumb enough to do it, but it would’t go well. Nazi Germany happened in an economy that was wrecked by WWI and they started pulling out of it. The US is the top economy in the world. If masses of people with jobs and debt are suddenly removed, there will be a tipping point and sudden crash.

As someone who hates the overuse of the term “literally”, those checks and balances are literally laid out in the constitution. It’s supposed to be a safeguard in the instance of a lunatic being the president.

Trump Derangement Syndrome- I don’t think it means what he thinks it means.

That’s a bit extreme. For sure, some are awful and they’re not coming around. But over 70 million people voted for him. A good scenario would be for even 25% of them to see they were wrong and feel like it’s not too late to change sides. Because it’s not too late. It’s how we can move forward

There’s a system of misinformation in place that’s efficient at targeting people lacking critical thinking skills. The attitude of “anyone who voted Trump is awful and needs to go” is not helpful or practical. Getting more people to listen to reason should be the goal, not making them double down.

Among other things, he is blatantly oxymoronic

Congress should assign a special counsel. The DOJ under this administration won’t do anything about it

At this point, if Trump said he didn’t know who Don Jr is, it would be plausible.

Technically, I voted a few weeks ago

I thought the same exact thing

If he cares so much about what it would have had in Lincoln’s era, maybe he should remove the plumbing and lights

That was just “Joey”, no one called him “Uncle Joey”

They should show up and elect a new speaker like it’s business as usual. If the White House can be torn down without going through the proper procedures, elected representatives that show up to work should be able to conduct business amongst themselves when it seems like the speaker vacated his job.

I think Trump making the point that his presidency is all about shitting all over everything is actually an honest assessment. Credit where credit is due, even if a bit crude.

The “both sides” standard in the headline now? The Republican party is all Trump sycophants. He owns this shutdown.

Probably could have worked in “cutoff the head of a beached whale with a chainsaw” somewhere in there.

I read it as “pulpit” and didn’t realize she said “puppet” until I watched it with the sound on.

I saw a PragerU ad come up on YouTube when my kids were watching something. We had a good talk about that not being something they should watch or, if they do come across it, how it’s not a good message and they should not take it seriously. Critical thinking needs to start in Elementary I guess.

That’s going to be great footage for the future documentary about this corrupt administration

Take note that the Confederacy Lincoln fought are current-day red states.
