tldr:
rewards systems that support themselves: I want to impress my friends so I make art. they note improvement, so I want to work harder.
cleanliness:take a shower and make your bed. open the curtain. its small but every step you can take to get out is good.
friends:support systems are good. do it

plus we cant all afford that. I find its best to have the reward contained with itself somehow. for instance, with art, I often feel I need support from people to get it done, and yeah, it *should* come from the heart, but the few people I have that will note my improvements and be patient are great

one of the most useful things for me has been rewards systems. a lot of people swear by gamified systems, things like "every month I take a shower every day, I earn myself a cheep indie game" or such. the issue with that I find is its kinda materialistic to base a reward on something external -moar
