Nairobi never ceases to surprise me—a city of hustle and paradox. Its people are kind and polite, yet fiercely determined to earn a shilling. Here, city dwellers—whether wealthy or struggling—aren’t divided by status, only by the contents of their pockets.

The challenge of the diaspora arises when, after years away from one's homeland, returning to find a home transformed into something unrecognizable. The essence of the land, the air's scent, the way people move and communicate,all seem alien, as if you've landed on another planet.
