Speaking of metroidvanias, one game I can't recommend highly enough is Iconoclasts, still some of the lushest pixelart I've ever seen, and has one absolute hell of a good story with some positively wonderful characters, and it's 75% off right now.

It really can just feel like there are insurmountable barriers that separate you from from everyone else. For me, the frustration really hits when I see other people socializing no problem. Like, god, fuck, why is it so easy for them? Why is it so hard for me?

Nothing really feels like it has much meaning anymore. Anything I try to do is just pathetic struggling that does nothing at all, just wastes my time and makes me hate myself more than I already do.

I mean given, I doubt it was a good idea back then.

I think I remember meeting alot of people as a teen through online random matches but I dunno if that's really a good idea anymore.
