So, they're opposites, even tho people say things like, "Odds are, Billy is gonna win this fight."

I'm no longer confused by the inverse relationship between bond prices and bond "yields," but that took almost a lifetime. It seems "the odds" (regardless of the term's original meaning) is generally used synonymously with "the chances."
