I've been playing Trails of Cold Steel recently, it's very interesting to see a story take place in a country with a long legacy of a class system. It makes me wonder if this is what it's like in the UK or India.

I always appreciate characters who have weird or unorthodox weaponry in games/anime/media in general. But a shotgun honestly feels so out of place lmao. I kinda love it.

Did you know? In Japan, it is illegal to make a male highschool aged protagonist who doesn't have a girl fall on him in an awkward way? Game developers and anime execs who don't obey this law are executed.

Something that's actually pretty rare in games is for musical instruments to modeled correctly, i.e. wrong amount of pegs, strings, keys etc. But the ones here in Trails of Cold Steel are actually accurate, which I really appreciate!

One thing I kinda hate about Cold Steel though is the lack of a dialogue log. Sometimes I accidently skip through dialogue or read too fast ;3;

I wasn't sure I'd like the change to arts in Cold Steel, but it has surprisingly grown on me a bit. I do think I still prefer the strategy of Sky + Crossbell, but it has its own sort of strategy to it too

One of the cool things about learning imperial Chinese history, is that succeeding dynasties would write records about the previous dynasties. It's so cool to me that they honored the previous rulers like that. I'm so used to seeing new cultures burn the records of the old ones.
