The Government of Assam launched the State Water Resources Assessment in late February, an initiative in partnership with Alluvium, supported by AWP and the World Bank, to help the state tackle complex water issues by using scientific data and community insights.

Sparks flew this morning at a lively debate on whether effective water management must start at the grassroots, hosted by eWater Group (@ewatergroup.bsky.social) CEO Michael Wilson.

The debate was won by the team for the affirmative.

AWP supported WaterAid PNG to develop the first inclusive WASH plan for Wewak district, promoting community participation and availability of quality data. The Wewak model is now being integrated into other district WASH plans, improving access and sustainability of services.

A recent study tour organised by the Australian Water Partnership, led by Amperes & Alluvium, supported Vietnam’s Water Department in co-developing a roadmap to strengthen River Basin Organisations and promote sustainable river basin management.

Environmental water refers to any freshwater body such as rivers, wetlands and floodplains. These types of water bodies support biodiversity and the well-being of communities, but a changing climate and other risks are impacting their flow and threatening species.
