"The resulting dissent is far from a literary masterpiece. If, however, there
were a Nobel Prize for Fiction, Judge Brown’s opinion would be a prime

more just the need for any authority at all. ive realized my feelings on this strongly resemble the WebPKI vs DANE "debate" and im definitely just wrong

its so disappointing. i thought this died months ago. what is it about those two magic letters? seeing them written out seems to instantly turn off the parts of our brains capable of complex reasoning

i got curious and looks like webkit is calling (the original) arc4random (Source/WTF/wtf/CryptographicallyRandomNumber.cpp), but they reset the seed often enough that with my limited understanding of attacking RC4 there's not enough time to do anything interesting :(

👀"The exact random-number generation method is UA-defined. It should be the case that two distinct random values have no easily-detectable correlation, but this specification intentionally does not specify what that means in terms of cryptographic strength." [CSS Values and Units Module Level 5]

git's delta compression during a repack should handle it mostly fine. i don't know if github does any extra repacking on top of the automatic repack on pushes

face scan age verification is so stupid. lets through plenty of older looking underage people, but sorry if you look young...

i was thinking about this after your post this morning, but im concerned it wouldnt change much. with such a large portion of users on bluesky pbc's services, youre at risk getting cut off. even without a block, the moderation service applies when viewing the app

i need to think more on this

genuinely the best experience ive had writing a tui was while working on a tech demo for react in the terminal. i dislike how terminal libraries try to be simpler than graphical ones. its the same task! treat it the same! give me flexbox in my terminal! my brain is permanently damaged by javascript!

but in all seriousness, while the compiler is able to elide them most of the time, the semantics would otherwise call for a memmove, which is no faster than the automatic Clone impl. clone is cheap!

llm detection is pseudoscience. it's baffling how even the anti-ai industry has convinced the public to throw away their critical thinking and treat technology as magic without questioning it
