I asked about sky check on a recent flight and the gate agent looked at me like I had three eyes, so it's obsolete.

I don't fly as much as I used to lately but my absolute favourite thing about the current mind-blowing price gouging practices by airlines is the war against checked luggage, which has driven more people (myself included) to only do carry-on.

In my experience, sometimes the committee just really gets behind. I think there is an obligation to review all annual reports, so they would have to review the latest one that's outstanding before moving on to more recent ones.

... to which he replied that he would only feed them potatoes (because we often talk about how my mom grew up as 1 of 8 children so they ate a lot of potatoes). And then he proudly proclaimed that he would feed them so many potatoes that they would eventually just turn into potatoes.

Then he came up with a scheme to just have like 90 babies and that way you'd never have to work again, and without getting into too much detail about how unrealistic his plan was, I just told him that babies cost a lot of money and he might want to reconsider...

He then asked if people get paid when they take time off when they have babies, and I explained that yeah, it varies, but in Canada most people will still receive a portion of their income while on parental leave.

Will (10)'s teacher (man) is having a baby soon so we were talking about how much time he might take off work. I was telling him that in most cases, the mom takes more time off with the baby because she is recovering from birth and is often breastfeeding a newborn, etc.
