The strategy seems to be similar to the Covid strategy: Pretend that the problem does not exist, so the high cost of living can be attributed, completely, to local decisions and the Liberals can be blamed for all of it.

... and then the Premier of Ontario suspended measures, and it was off again. However, Canada will evidently be announcing counter-tariffs of $29.8B worth of goods later today (reported this morning by CBC News), so one might - possibly - expect another public temper tantrum, with tariffs restored.

The article is behind a paywall and I'm confused. What happens, without this, if Congress remained silent? Would Trump's "emergency" tariffs stay in place? After 15 calendar day passes, would tariffs be otherwise set until the President changed them? Does this extend Congress's time to intervene?

This point has probably been made, anyway. It seems unlikely that he would be a Russian agent. After all: Why would they spend a penny on him, give him a handler, and so on... when they can already flatter and trick him into doing whatever they want, at no expense?

Explanation: On those platforms one can only see something that appears to be from Canadian media, these days, if it is a fraudulent "paid advertisement" from a source that is not easily identified, probably from off shore, and that promotes cybercrime.
