There is a closeness to God—to the sum of all things—that I felt within those walls that I’ve not experienced before or after. What a blessing that its doors are open once again.

It’s hard for me to articulate how special my visit to Notre Dame was in 2015. The author of this article writes about the cathedral’s tranquility and that’s certainly a word for what I experienced. But maybe the best word is intimacy.
