Nah, I have no problem drumming up contempt

Will Stancil, famously unfamiliar with the situation in Minneapolis

The author is using the term as it has been used in International Relations for over a century. They're not being glib or imprecise, but using a technical term in a technical way in the appropriate context. If you'd care to learn, the Wikipedia article discusses it

The author in Foreign Affairs is using the term as it has been used in International Relations for more than a century. They're using a technical term, not the colloquial. The Wikipedia article discussed this, and it's totally free to access.

But since the second screenshot might suggest he is making that same equivalency, I think it's worth pointing out that, regardless of his thoughts about the left, he's always understood the right is the true evil
January 18, 2026 at 8:17 PM
Eh, I would maintain that drawing a clear line between the two and chastising those drawing the equivalency is still defending, but I don't think it's worth arguing about.
January 18, 2026 at 8:17 PM
At the very least, the last screenshot you're using is disingenuous, he's very clearing defending the left in the full context (and also doesn't mean physically attacking those on the left. I'm not sure if you meant the screenshot to be read that way, but I have seen others use it like that.)

It might be good to delete the post in which you called him bigoted, then. I'm sure you're familiar with misinformation posts that get a ton of views, and is only corrected in another post that no one sees. I don't think it's a good thing to recreate that dynamic, even if on a much smaller scale

Do judges like this type of confident response?
January 13, 2026 at 7:55 PM
Think about all the "cop gets acquitted for obvious misconduct" stories you hear about. It's incredibly difficult to convict a cop of anything. They just (very wrongly) get a ton of leeway from the legal system from prosecutor to judge to jury.
January 9, 2026 at 8:46 PM
Because "legally" justified is incredibly biased towards law enforcement. He's not making a moral call here.

Yeah, the amount of straight-up sexual harassment you get from people who would otherwise claim to hate sexual harassment is genuinely disturbing

In fairness, I'm someone who blocks people in Will's mentions extremely aggressively. I'll do it over basically nothing, and simply never ends. There's always more new accounts spewing vitriol. I've been doing it for a while, but yesterday feels about the same as the first day I jumped over here.

I don't know, I think posters at large have decided that coming in second in a race is about the worst thing you can possibly do, lmao

Posting "Deep breaths, okay?" is actual total jagoff behavior, Jesus Christ.

Huh, what puts it over the original for you? It was good, but I didn't feel like it topped Knives Out

"20 years late"

Oh, what a funny exaggeration for comedic eff- what do you mean it was released 18 years ago?? What do you mean super mario galaxy is old enough to vote now???

You can't compare the modern bottom 1% with the historical 50% and call it a valid comparison!
November 11, 2025 at 8:57 PM
You're using a dishonest comparison to try and gotcha Stancil!
November 11, 2025 at 8:56 PM
You're not using the median either, though. You're using a median for one end but not the other! It's not a valid comparison if you're comparing two different things! It's not a gotcha, all I'm saying is you can't make accurate comparisons if you use two totally different measures.
November 11, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Median wage is not heavily weighted by rarer people with huge salaries. You're thinking of the mean. We use the median instead of the mean precisely to avoid that problem.
