Second playthru was surprisingly way more fun than the first. Also happen to be rewatching Andor right now so the similar timeframe was cool. #upnext: Hitting Survivor for the first time.

Even taking the OGs into account, this is my favorite Sonic 2D (2.5D technically) platformer. 🤫 Don’t tell the masses.

#SonicTeam basically took everything successful about #SonicMania and #MegaMan11 ‘d it. No qualms there. I love both of those games.

At first glance it looks like it’s the entire game, mirrored. I vaguely remember accessing this with cheat codes back in the day. I was really hoping for some sort of expansion.

It truly has been about 30 years, and I had no idea that I had not fully beaten this game. I thought the first Wizpig race and the extra world were it. I just beat Wizpig 2 for the first time, and I’m kind of in disbelief. THEN the credits role, I fire up my save just to poke around, and I see THIS:

I’m honestly kind of floored at the moment. I revisit this and other retro games every so often. I joke that it’s only taken me 20 some odd years to beat certain games, but I’ve actually seen the endings with friends.

Chaos controlled. You know that large disappointment you feel when you play an awesome concept with poor execution? That’s Sonic Generations. Good news is Shadow Generations notes every single pain point, perfects, and expands with Sonic Frontiers functionality.
