Pedey is objectively one of the Top 20 2B of all time (chart below courtesy of some AI). But there are those above him not in the HOF. Are 2B’s just shortchanged by the Hall in general? What could have been if Machado didn’t take his knee out.

Sox were never going to sign Bo, but it’s remarkable Bo got the same deal the Sox gave Bregman last year.

I still think Sox will acquire someone with a much smaller contract hit (hello Peredes!) via trade, and overpay a bit and clear their OF and P logjams.

Who says it’s a 2 year rental? Sign him to a contract. Need to give up an OF and 1 other piece to get a quality 3B at a reasonable price. Breslow isn’t enamored with Bello. Maybe get a decent pick back from Houston. Of course a lesser pitcher would better for the Sox.

That makes a lot of sense (well, Bello+, as they will have to overpay). But what bats are out there that make a good trade match? Paredes in Houston is the most likely target (Wilyer and Bello?), but could they get Maikel Garcia from KC? It takes 2 to tango.

Eugenio Suarez (why have just 1 Suarez when you can have 2!) makes the most sense on a 1 yr deal. His D is below average, though.
