Thanks to bold action like #ULEZ, London has finally hit legal limits on toxic NO₂!

This wouldn't have been possible if the Mayor of London didn't keep pushing to make it happen.

But, we're not done.

London isn't the only city in the UK. There's still more we can all do.

Airlines pay zero tax on fuel, while emissions keep climbing. ✈️

Without fair policies and real financial pressure, there’s no incentive for the industry to cut pollution.

It’s time to make polluters pay.

All the commercial airlines in the UK don't pay tax on the fuel they burn. That means a single driver pays more tax on one tank of fuel than every single airline in the UK.

The Chancellor says airport expansion will grow the economy.

But here’s the truth: business travel is flat, and more Brits fly out than tourists fly in.

So who’s benefiting? Mostly wealthy frequent flyers.

At Labour Conference, our Head of Aviation Ali Warrington joined Safe Landing, ZeroAvia & NEF to discuss how the UK can cut aviation emissions while supporting economic growth.

The message was clear: growth and climate action go hand in hand.

The public doesn’t want more airport expansion. They want clean air, stability, and safe communities.

Why is government ignoring public opinion — and climate science — to push through Gatwick’s second runway?

Here's what people really think about airport expansion Most people don't believe that airport expansion brings them any benefits. Just one in five people believe that expanding airports will bring down the cost of living People want the aviation industry to reduce its emissions

Electric SUV subsidies have MPs up in arms — and it’s clear why.

Instead of helping the people who need it most, public money is going to oversized vehicles that cause more road danger & pollution.

You don’t need to look far to see that air pollution is harming our health. The evidence is everywhere.

Flying isn’t just a choice—it’s a demand engineered. Billions are spent advertising flights, selling holidays, status, and identity.

Yet aviation is one of the most polluting, least regulated sectors.

So, why are we still being sold something the planet can't afford?

Traffic in Edinburgh is rising again — and it’s not just Edinburgh. Across the UK, congestion and pollution are increasing. That's bad for everyone, whether you're a driver or not.

Kemi Badenoch says North Sea oil and gas is the answer to our problems, but the gov’s own advisors disagree.

London has six airports and the worst aviation-related air pollution in the world.

Adding flights will only make things worse - yet the gov keeps pushing expansion.

Help us demand better. Ask your MP to meet us in Parliament 👉 https://action.wearepossible.org/page/172750/action/1?ea.url.id=8205236

Fuel duty hasn’t risen since 2010, costing the UK £130bn.

Wealthy drivers benefit most, while everyone else faces rising rail fares, cut buses, and poor walking, wheeling & cycling routes.

Climate action could give you a discount on your summer holiday.

A small group of frequent flyers cause 1/4 of aviation emissions. Fairer flight taxes targeted at these individuals could cut pollution & make your holiday cheaper.

Let’s make it happen 👉 https://bit.ly/4oFhgKx
If frequent fliers paid a fair price, we could have a £20 discount on our first flight every year.

The question isn’t “how much” expansion is ok.

It’s whether current flight levels are already too high - for people and the planet.

We’re bringing this question to Parliament on Sept 10.

Help us get your MP in the room 👉 https://bit.ly/3FXQefR
The question we should be asking is less how much expansion should we have? And more, is the current amount safe for the climate?

New runways get the attention, but all airport expansions increase emissions.

Even without new tarmac, more flights = more damage.

We’re going to Parliament on Sept 10 to demand better.

✈️ Invite your MP to meet us: https://action.wearepossible.org/page/172750/action/1?ea.url.id=8205236
The reason the new runways get so much attention and concern is because they're locking in a huge increase in emissions but even expansions that don't involve new runways are worrying.
