Still not sure how hiring McDaniel fixes a perennially underperforming defense, but Chargers gonna Charger, I suppose.

Nobody is going to trade for a 31yo EDGE coming off of a season-ending injury that required surgery who would be making $36m, fully guaranteed, on the franchise tag. They couldn't get a second for him at the trade deadline last year so if they did franchise him, he'd be "hurt" again this season.

First thing I did was check if the one in State College is still open. They are.

Also one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Watch videos of Joe Burrow talking about fossils, or Legos, or how he learned to play the piano (well!) to rehab his wrist injury and tell me he's not.

Looks pretty accurate.

I am. Even the massive COVID death toll that disproportionately affected Republicans couldn't swing the state back purple in 2022.
February 6, 2026 at 8:23 PM
That's fine. But I'm telling you; it's Florida. They'll get even more red in November. Cuban Americans are going to continue to vote for Republicans even as people from their neighborhoods (and possibly even their family members) get disappeared. ICE will stay small-scale there for that reason.
February 6, 2026 at 8:19 PM
So Joe Burrow should be a three-time MVP then? Because Herbert's line this year was still better than Burrow's lines in 2021, 2022, and 2024 (and 2020 and 2023 as well, but he got injured both of those years).
February 6, 2026 at 8:16 PM
And Burrow should've been MVP, as this year clearly proved.

It's not a proclamation, it's an observation based on election trends in the state since 2000. In every single election, even Trump's first midterm in 2018 and the 2020 election, the state has shifted further right.
February 6, 2026 at 8:07 PM
(Spoiler alert: it won't. That's just another Florida myth we keep hearing.)

She's a Representative, not a Senator.
February 6, 2026 at 1:09 PM
If it's any consolation, I'm stuck with literal used car salesman and Trump wannabe Mike Kelly, with the added bonus of having Fetterman and an actual J6er as my Senators.
February 6, 2026 at 1:08 PM
Let's revisit this in November. I'm confident Florida will shift further right, just like it has basically every year since 2000.
February 6, 2026 at 1:06 PM
There are no vulnerable seats held by Republicans in Florida. We keep hearing that and then Floridiots turn out en masse to vote against their best interests.

He's gotten progressively less likable in every press conference since losing to the Bengals in the divisional round a few years back. Petulant, overly defensive, and clearly willing to say whatever it takes to stay on Pegula's good side.
February 4, 2026 at 12:18 PM
John Fetterman sent back a form letter when I questioned him about it last year that was basically just a shrug emoji. "They have a majority, so my vote doesn't matter, and some of these nominees are actually good". I regret voting for him every day.
February 4, 2026 at 12:05 PM
I can only assume Fetterman didn't take part in this vote.

They need an IDL who can generate pressure, not another EDGE. Safety is also a greater need. If they manage both of those in free agency and Bain is the best player on the board at 10? Go for it.

Not going to lie - you were my first thought. But I didn't know if you transitioned at seventeen.
January 30, 2026 at 3:22 AM
Pretty much this. Take the previous pushes that stalled due to injuries, combine that with Darius being in significantly worse shape than he has been and Dante being the most boring person on the AEW roster when he's doing anything other than wrestling, and they're basically dead in the water.

Did Big Terr actually say McDermott did an "admiral" job, or was the quote mis-transposed?

Shooting for DiCamillo's?
January 11, 2026 at 12:00 PM
...completely filled it, getting to see Hechicero be a real-life Masters of the Universe villain and Mascara Dorada just generally be really awesome has certainly helped. (Still wish Tony would hire the LU writing team, though - those guys with this roster?)

Good thing he was never underused in a different American promotion with multiple hours of television time to fill. /S

In all seriousness, I'm so glad AEW's partnership with CMLL is bearing fruit. I've had a Lucha Underground-sized void in my life for the past few years, and while AEW hasn't...
