👀What is not visible from Earth is a spectacular sight can only be observed from Space.🛰🌍

Totally agree. I watched it happen — one provider locked down and eventually killed public access because folks thought license terms didn’t matter. Nice job, everyone.

Satellite imagery shows dense smoke over Concepción, Santa Cruz—an area repeatedly hit by wildfires. Though drought and heat amplify them, most fires are human-driven, sparked by slash-and-burn (chaqueo) land clearing for farming and grazing that often escapes control.

🔥 Etosha National Park Wildfire, Namibia Sept-Oct 2025

Over 34% of the park (~775,000 ha) burned, sparked near farms on the border.
500+ responders fought the blaze as wildlife and grazing lands were hit.

Quote-thread @huubeggen.bsky.social & @wed-explorer.bsky.social: very nice 👇 choice for a "backlight photo" taken in space & extra sediment-discharge-plume info.

On the map isspix.com/ISS073, there are two pins for their thread; one also has link to #ZenaCardman 's downloadable 50-mm high-res

This #NASA image reveals the #dynamic interface of the #Amazon River plume with the Atlantic Ocean near N. Brazil. The vast sediment discharge is clearly visible, shaping coastal turbidity and influencing marine ecosystems. Cloud formations indicate active convection, typical of equatorial humidity.
Phytoplankton, mixed with sediment and organic matter, appear as blue-green wave-like patterns along the coastal margin of northern Brazil in this image acquired in September 2025. Thin layers of smoke from forest fires drift above the region, while river sediment shapes the turbid coastal waters. Thin layers of smoke from forest fires drift above the region

Massive #DustStorm Sweeps from Afghanistan’s Margo #Desert into South #Asia🌬🌏 🗓 06/2025
A massive #dust storm from #Afghanistan’s Margo Desert has spread into #Pakistan and #India, severely reducing #AirQuality. Weak vegetation and prolonged dryness have intensified such storms in the region.🌵🏜☀️

Thanks! Indeed, recent reports (Greenpeace 2024; TAQA Morocco ESG 2024) identify Jorf Lasfar as one of North Africa’s largest SO₂ emitters. Satellite data occasionally show an aerosol plume distinct from dust, consistent with industrial emissions under specific wind conditions. [links/screenshots]

While exploring satellite imagery, I noticed a dark smoke trail over Jambyl Region. It revealed a grassland #fire spreading rapidly. This shows how satellites play a crucial role in detecting #wildfires, assessing their extent, and warning of potential danger.🛰🔥🚨

Why many colonies form near cliffs:🐧🐧🐧
Penguin colonies often form near icy🧊 or rocky cliffs for protection from strong winds🌬, concealment from predators, and stable ground for nesting🐧🥚. These areas also offer quick access to the sea for feeding, making them ideal for both safety and survival.

Satellite imagery reveals a vast smoke plume originating from the Jorf Lasfar Energy Company (JLEC), extending along Morocco’s Atlantic coast. The visible haze indicates heavy emissions whose spread varies daily with wind direction, impacting regional #AirQuality.
