The parts served by those two green line branches are full of university students. Not a big car demo.

His biggest bit is a tram in Leeds. I think you might get some thanks for that one if the government went for it at the start of this parliament and had at least one line up and running by the election.

This is partly due to legal academics and judges making law seem complicated when it's often not. Take the tariffs case: a big part is how to interpret a list of verbs. Multiple ways to do that, but ultimately it comes down to a judgment call about presidential power.

And violated his professional responsibility to Apollo Global, it sounds like? Paul Weiss says they were hired by Apollo and adverse to Epstein but here is Karp telling Epstein that he'll try to work out the matter with Apollo's CEO. Karp should be up for bar discipline.

It has a chapter each on All the President's Men, Butch Cassidy, and other movies he wrote.

William Goldman! Wrote a great book on making movies, too.

I don't know if the 31st of February date at the bottom detracts from the righteousness or adds to the sense of being trapped in a dark fantasy land.

Not really constant dem governors in Wisconsin. You had Tommy Thompson (R) for a million years, then in the 21st century Doyle (D), Walker (R), Evers (D), each getting two terms.

It might have enough for solar. The largest solar plant in Spain is 1,000 hectares. 1,500 of those could meet half of electricity demand for the EU. Spain is 50,000,000 hectares. Between it and France there are a lot of empty, sunny bits.

It's absolutely baffling! The PM is a lawyer and ran a legal bureaucracy. He of all people should understand that this is a case where more lawyers and more tribunals could actually move the needle.

This is an absurd piece! "What could someone do if everyone listened to him?" It also doesn't address that Powell's term as chair is independent of his term as a governor!

Basically, let me still be mad at my neighbors for all the packages they get.

Your audience is pretty urban, right? Caveat it with a lot of the brick and mortar emissions coming from driving to the store. Walking, public transit, etc. change the numbers a fair bit.

This is a decent overview of the evidence from a bit ago. It suggests about 2/3 of median hourly earnings. Don't know of a more recent one.

Hope your new status helps to balance out the AI vibes over here. They're way too anti, like no one ever just sits back and thinks that it's at least a little neat.

Oh shit I didn't mean garden city in long island, I meant the garden city movement!
April 8, 2025 at 12:27 AM
I know. I meant the specific neighborhood in the picture. The bit with the train station is sort of a garden city. Back in the day Queens was quite rural and the sense of place of that bit was probably different than it is now. Today it's sort of out of place but in a fun way.
April 8, 2025 at 12:08 AM
That neighborhood doesn't quite capture the garden city vibe but it's close. Sort of the uncanny valley of urban planning.

Amusingly, Skadden represented Musk in the litigation when he tried to back out of buying Twitter and in the litigation over his Tesla pay package. Lost both of them.
