I spoke with cherished friend @amityf.bsky.social last night and she mentioned that I should have a patreon. I asked, "how do you not know I've had a patreon for many years?"

I'm bad at promoting the patreon. Don't make me mention it again. Freedom isn't free and neither is Wedge LIVE.

She released the prisoners. On her way to abolish NATO next.

we can do better mpls photoshopped Robin Wonsley in front of an old image of Moon Palace Books and its Abolish The Polish boards, while men in orange jumpsuits high-five and give thumbs-up

Wonsley represents Ward 2, while Moon Palace Books is in Ward 9.

Why is she so happy though? Inappropriate.

we can do better mpls hotoshopped Aisha Chughtai standing in front of the old Chino Latino with "CLOSED" photoshopped on it to look like graffiti

Chino Latino closed in October 2020, Chughtai was elected to the Minneapolis City Council more than 1 year later in November 2021.

Team Frey built a massive money machine: PACs,corporate interests, & terrible landlords boosting shockingly well-funded candidates who parachuted into wards they have little connection to. In other words, a way to elevate candidates that's vastly superior to the DFL caucus system
wedge.live
Reassessing my assumption that Frey is the favorite. Maybe voters watching daily scenes of police violence by federal agents in big cities plus rising authoritarianism will boost local progressives?

Possible defense for Millard: she doesn't know what a data center is, in the same way she has no idea who ex Chief Arradondo is.
wedge.live
Chughtai hit Millard with the data center hammer: My opponent has publicly supported building a data center here in Ward 10. Poison our water, overburden our electric grid, devastate economy.
wedge.live
*organizer, not strategist.
wedge.live
Possible defense: Maybe she had no idea about what Vetaw stands for, like she had no idea who Chief Arradondo was.
wedge.live
If sorting through her donor list isn't convincing, maybe you'd find it compelling that Millard told me that Latrisha Vetaw - the most conservative *do what landlords tell me to do* member of the city council - is her favorite.
wedge.live
Chughtai: my opponent has taken money from the worst slumlords in the city, from McDonalds franchise owners across the country, MAGA Trump donors. 20 percent of my opponent's campaign is funded by Republicans. Opponent eager to be deep in the pockets of Republicans.

If you cultivate a base of the most fearful and resentful, nobody will have the guts to knock a door and talk to a stranger.

Ya know what makes people not want to get out of their home? Constant fear mongering about how uptown is both dead and insanely dangerous and full of crime. I wonder which candidate is doing a bunch of that 🤔
wedge.live
Millard says take your neighborhood back: "So we have people in this neighborhood who have a vested interest in this neighborhood who need to get activated. It is time for you to get out of your house. It is time for you to come to door knocks. It is time for us to take our neighborhood back."
wedge.live
"not running in alignment with the mayor" is a big old lie. Millard's current campaign manager's previous role: strategist for one of several Frey-aligned PACs, where he worked alongside Frey's former campaign manager.
wedge.live
Millard says she's a balanced leader. "I'm not running in alignment with the mayor because I want to challenge the mayor."

Millard says take your neighborhood back: "So we have people in this neighborhood who have a vested interest in this neighborhood who need to get activated. It is time for you to get out of your house. It is time for you to come to door knocks. It is time for us to take our neighborhood back."

Chughtai: Since I've been elected we have raised funds from the largest polluters in our city to fund climate-focused infrastructure to help leverage every home to expand our electric vehicle infrastructure, weatherize homes in particular in the communities that have consistently been left behind.
wedge.live
Chughtai plugs her support of the city's transportation action plan.

Millard wants to get back to pre 2020 transit ridership. Says addressing safety is the way to do that.
wedge.live
Millard on climate: One of my favorite questions. "Make Lake Street into a green space." Street trees help with urban heat island. When revitalizing certain areas, "we have forgotten about green space."
wedge.live
Millard says advisory boards and committees have been cherry picked. "We need more good people."
wedge.live
Nice bluesky account you got there, would be a shame if something happened to it.

I read this post, looked to my left and one of the guys is looking right at me.

Chughtai: every person is worthy of safe, dignified home. Encampments are not the solution, often worse condition than refugee camps. When we don't have enough shelter, then people have to go somewhere. Have to end wack a mole approach. Need public health approach. Get people in permanent housing.
wedge.live
Millard: "Encampments are not safe and we're trying to make them a permanent thing."
wedge.live
Millard: "Best form of rent control is the 30 year mortgage."

"Building is the way we keep the market stable."

"The way that we can also make things affordable is by supporting our small businesses and keeping them open" when they close, your tax burden goes up.
wedge.live
Chughtai: meet with MPD 5th precinct every week. Assessing where resources are needed. But not the role of the city council to direct police operations or recruitment and retention — It's a fact. I keep an open dialogue with police.

Fact checking Millard: MPD "has not been defunded."
wedge.live
Millard: Chughtai no relationship with police, couldn't say Jamal Mitchell's name. "Voted to defund the police." (Might need a fact check on that because the police budget has gone nowhere but up under Chughtai)
