The article makes it seem like the goal is to have a more open source approach, and that touchscreens and stereos will not be offered by the manufacturer, rather the owner would be responsible for these amenities.

I remember reading some article/think piece about how social media subjects older generations to teenage/youth culture at a higher rate than previous generations, and I think the prevalence of 80s culture is an attempt of gen x/millennials to retain a nostalgic relevance

It’s been awhile but I would sometimes listen to Todd and Tyler (based out of Omaha). No clue what their show is like now, but for what it’s worth they seem to have fine politics and their producer goes by “Big Pussy”.
