german is a fun language. Schnitzeljagd is of course completely unrelated to Jägerschnitzel, and the latter can be, in certain parts of Germany, not a schnitzel at all but a sausage

yeah, he’s a total coward who governs california based on what he thinks will play well in ohio when he runs for president. he just expects us to be eternally grateful for stuff he did as mayor of SF. it totally sucks and probably won’t even help him become president anyway.

newsom vetoed a bill about curriculum standards (says he wants to wait for some report that’s still in the works, sigh) but the other pro-LGBT bills are still gonna happen unless he vetoes them by end of week. headlines should not assume people know the details of CA law…

for what it’s worth, the headline is slightly misleading. he can only stop things by an explicit veto. refusing to sign bills does nothing. no pocket veto in California. he shouldn’t have vetoed that one bill, but the others are still a go unless he nixes them by end of week

Yeah, apparently it doesn’t convince people and that’s good. But of course a lot of close elections are about differential turnout, and this doesn’t really tell you whether these sorts of message drive base turnout.

i’m glad that even as the big guys start to make essentially mainstream TV but on-demand, there’s also still space in online video for this kind of thing

hopefully that’s just an inherent thing about the medium not having much of a bottleneck and doesn’t get displaced by slop
