I’ve an award winning podcast about all that’s weird and a little off kilter in the town of Biggleswade and Bedfordshire. History with a pinch of the paranormal, folklore & urban legends. I also like cake, cats, beating bosses and disability rights.

Very true. I had friends who lived up at Heptonstall and it’s a very eerie place. I went to lay flowers on Sylvia Plath’s grave one night in pouring rain. Very spooky.

Those are great suggestions. Hebden Bridge too. Just next to Todmorden is a great town too.

I’m on top secret business today. 🤫

Thank you. Yes manuka honey is great stuff.

I love Whitby such a great town. I can imagine it’s very busy in the summer. I went there on a biology A-Level field trip as well as other actual holidays.
Biggleswade is less busy, but the fish & chips are not up to Whitby standards.

Oh Ken you’d be so welcome!

I've had a busy day working on a future episode, a presentation I'm giving for Halloween and some disability access stuff. But I thought I'd share with you this fantastic design my friend Tess' daughter has made for me. Who'd like some merch with this on? (It comes in green, and purple also.)
An ilustration of a UFO with a beam coming out with the words Biggles Weird written in the beam. There is also a silouhette of a cat, a swan and a ghost in the letter D is a ghost girl floating with a £ sign on her dress,

5 foot 2 and likely now shrinking, (post menopausal nonsense) so yes going with the make me feel more normal too.

Just had a heads-up from our friend @weirdinthewade.bsky.social that HIS HOUSE is on #BBC2 tonight - so, if you’ve not yet seen it, I can thoroughly recommend it!

My mum has just described Facebook as a modern Darby and Joan club.
She’s not wrong.

Biggleswade is getting its autumn on. Though the chestnut trees at the library are a bit more brown than russet thanks to the hot mostly dry summer.
A lane running along side the railway line. It is flanked by trees creating a tunnel effect. Fallen leaves sweep to the side. The colours in the trees and bushes are bright green, gold, brown and dark green. Three chestnut trees with brown leaves the library is on the right and the road on the left. The sky is pale blue.

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

I heard that spud man was coming to Biggleswade and thought “ooh I love a jacket potato” little did I know he’s a huge TikTok star. (I’m very old.)
I don’t believe his spud van is haunted sadly but if you’re local he’s selling his jacket spuds tomorrow (Saturday) in Biggleswade.
A large black bus like food truck with spud man written on it in white and pink. It’s parked outside the white hart pub.

I had a lovely time at the #BritishPodcastAwards last night. I didn’t win but just to be nominated this year was amazing.
It would be a little greedy to win twice, right?
Best of all I got to hang out with the This Paranormal Life lads and get a cushion with my newer logo on it.
Me on the pink carpet. My hair is slightly curled and a minkie blonde. I’m smiling and wearing a long turquoise dress with a ditsy flower pattern. I’m wearing pale green doc marten boots. The stage with the big screen showing the weird in the Wade logo when the nomination was read out. Me standing below some cushions pegged to a wall. There are many empty pegs but the two cushions above me have the uncanny logo on it and one has the weird in the Wade logo.

On my way to London to have lunch with my fabulous friend Ruth, then it’s the British Podcast Awards! 🤞🏼
I’m wearing my new #Uncanny T-shirt. I’m hoping they win listeners choice 🤞🏼
But it’s not all glamour. In this photo I’m having the grandmother of all hot flushes! 😂
Me smiling at the train station. I have pale pink hair and I’m wearing a white T-shirt with uncanny written on it and an image of a sound wave form with ghosts, big foot and flying saucer on it

Happy 1st of October! White Rabbits! (Does anyone know where that saying white rabbits on the first day of the month comes from?) Yes it's the offical start of "Spooky Season" but it's also my favourite time of year because of the glorious colours of the leaves and funghi

It's October so it's #31DaysofGraves and day 1 is Flowers - the Brute wall monuments in north Gwent/south Breconshire have lovely rococo swags of flowers and fruit. This at Llangatwg near Crickhowell.
Ornate wall monument to Mary daughter of Philip Moses. Swags of flowers and rococo decoration, cherub's head at top.
