I am recommending you read Gossamer by Lois Lowry immediately because it's my favorite book and I assume everyone should love it

Got three books at Barnes & Noble for around $46. Got 8 books, 2 CDs, 2 DVDs, and some toolage at a garage sale for $15. Both great, but buying used from locals always pays off.
The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss, Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, and James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl, new from B&N for $46. The entire Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, Art Through the Ages by Helen Gardner, the movies Catch Me If You Can and Annihilation, Cracked Rear View by Hootie & The Blowfish, Come Away With Me by Norah Jones, a triggered oil can, a sharpening stone, a set of router cutters, a unique hammer head for purposes unknown to me, and a cool soda box at a garage sale for $15.

Some practice work for various characters. Eventually I'm gonna hone this style and use it to illustrate my books I think
Practice pencil drawings of characters from my story. Yohz is the tuberous thing at the top, sprouting roots. Fovos is the short humanoid with hair guarding his face. Thymos is the misproportioned person standing on his hands to the right. Waw is the jewel-faced character in the bottom right. The Bicrimsicorn is the devil-horned figure crawling in the bottom left.

Thinking about what maybe(?) will be my preferred art style for my stories. This became the cover of the binder I use to organize my story wips and references. The smaller one is the original I did as a kid.

An older, more ornate version of the same design. This one was drawn when I was a teenager and has a few less characters in it. I think this older design and its mechanical motifs reflect the influence Bionicle had on my world building

My first time doing brickwork, repairing a staircase that fell apart. The steps themselves are done and setting, next gotta do the kicks (vertical parts)

Best corner in my house. Shelves made from reclaimed fence posts and some hardware in my garage, packed with Lego, books, and various trinkets I've collected over the years. It's like a collage of objects that I eventually want akin to a page from an I Spy book
