I'm going to figure out time travel just to go back to before I read this.

I tell my boss all this. She goes to check on him the next day to make sure he’s doing proofs correctly. To r motherfucker was COMPLETELY unprepared, taught the wrong lesson. Our lessons are numbered, everything is there, this moron taught lesson 4 in lesson 2, it did not follow lesson 1 at all

Anyways I ended up raising my voice at him bc he was literally blowing me off like sure sure I might do it “your way” (“my way” is a two column proof which is everybody’s way). So after I yell and tell him in order to work there he must do it our way, he says he understands. Fine.

Except he doesn’t know what a proof is. Which is like a doctor who’s never heard of medicine. When I explain what I mean he implies I am being “extra” and that you can just kind of talk through the steps. I keep trying to stress the importance of a formal proof (in geometry, like fucking duh!)

I work at an after school program, parents pay $$$ to push their kids in math. I just became a mentor for new hires. Yay. My 1st mentee- a geometry guru who’s taught for years. Great! Should be easy!
