Six years after the world's last lamb knelt to be sacrificed, a new god walks the lands of the Old Faith. A cheetah priest and his adopted son venture forth to find out if the new god promised to their own faith. Alongside a cowardly wolf searching for his sibling, an adventure commences.

Storyline #2 is Aoi, about an ordinary sika deer Follower who becomes a devotee of Chemach. It occurs parallel to the main story and occasionally crosses over, but main character Peryton is largely doing her own thing.
