Our research report on adverse childhood events – released this week – suggests that while we cannot prevent every child from abuse or harm, we can foster resilience for those who have endured adverse childhood experiences.

35% of Ontarians have experienced at least one adverse childhood event (ACE). But ACEs are not equally distributed: a history of ACEs was found to be more common among equity-deserving groups, including LGB populations, people with disabilities, and females.
