Gaza isn't Israel. International waters are certainly not Israel. If Israel supporters have to rely on a 2011 non-legal opinion to justify the blockade, it suggests it's not legal at all.

If it's not aimed at starving civilians, on what basis did they seize these ships? Also it's very obvious Israel is not allowing aid via neutral channels.

What's the basis for your claim of when "intl law" permits a blockade? Cos the long-established rule is freedom of navigation on the high seas.

Raising awareness of the IDF brutality in Gaza? Yeah, and the IDF certainly did plenty to confirm just how much contempt they have for international law and human rights - and is still doing so in its vicious treatment of that brave humanitarians.

You're blatantly misrepresenting the UN Palmer Report, which did not "make definitive findings either of fact or law" (page 8). It did not give Israel carte blanche to keep a permanent blockade around Gaza or to seize boats and crews, certainly when they had no weapons.

Tldr the "UN Palmer Report" was a political deal bw Turkey and Israel, was not a legal assessment of the blockade even then, and certainly did not endorse it being there 14 years later and used to kidnap unarmed people from ships with no weapons.

Second, insofar as these politicians considered the blockade at that time and exception to the rule of free navigation, it was only to stop weapons (none of which were on this flotilla) and where Israel was under "a real threat" from Gaza, which it has since obliterated.
