Chuffed to have caught up with the 15 Tundra Bean Geese near Dryslwyn today, a long wanted life tick and part of a significant influx to the UK over the weekend. They were accompanied by 4 Pink-footed Geese, 12 Whooper Swans and 17 Mute Swans. #birdingWales #UKWildlife @birdsinwales.bsky.social

At Dryslwyn itself I managed to relocate 7 of the earlier 22 Russian White-fronted Geese in amongst hundreds of Canada and Greylags behind the castle. Amazing scenes along the Towy with birds everywhere inc plenty of Wigeon and Lapwing too. #birdjngWales #UKWildlife @birdsinwales.bsky.social

Now that the water levels are dropping on the river Towy, I caught up with the whooper swans, 2 x black swans and located 5 x pink-footed geese amongst the greylags & canada. Goosanders, kingfisher and green sandpipers too.

Wasn’t expecting to see a Bewick’s Swan downriver from Cilsan this afternoon! Initially associating with a couple of Mute’s it did a short flight before landing back on the same pool. A four Swan day with 44 Whooper and 2 Black in the same area. #birdingWales @birdsinwales.bsky.social
