🟣We encourage anyone who works within a VAWDASV specialist service, or VAWDASV practitioners in the statutory sector to join our course on understanding experiences and effects of violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence on deaf survivors.
Understanding Experiences & Effects of VAWDASV on Deaf Survivors Free training for Specialist Services and Practitioners in the Statutory Sector The aim of this training is to have improved knowledge about the approach, skills, and resources necessary to provide a competent response to deaf survivors, including effective support and advocacy. The training will: • Develop an understanding of deafness and deaf culture. Appreciate and understand the impacts and barriers of VAWDASV for deaf or hard of hearing survivors. Strengthen their understanding of the main issues of providing a sensitive and appropriate service to deaf or hard of hearing survivors. VAWDASV specialists services • 23rd October • 18th November Practitioners in the statutory sector • 28th October • 30th October • 19th November • 25th November
