It fascinates me that giving to charities is considered noble and praiseworthy, but creating a society that doesn't require charity is considered socialist and bad.

A local news woman said "they've been working on the bike trail since the turn of the century " and I thought "no way it's been there that long" then I realized she meant 2000 not 1900.
