Extremism is not exclusive to one religion, to one culture, to one race—and neither is humanity and heroism.

See my commentary in @usatoday.com with candid words on the state of the U.S. military under Hegseth and its ongoing strike campaign under the banner of “narcoterrorism.”

In my commentary for @theintercept.com, I have blunt words for current Air Force leadership:

“Leaders like this are too focused on pleasing Hegseth and his obsession with lethality and ‘warrior culture’…. It’s disgusting.”

“He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12-year-old playing Army…. He should have been fired after Signalgate, and then every single day after that.”

Perhaps the best summation of Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, and I completely agree with Senator Kelly.

In this critical moment, I view it as my moral obligation to provide any insight that can help bring truth and transparency to the American people.

My heart aches for the young soldiers recently ambushed in Washington, D.C.

Just days before the shootings, I was back in D.C. with a couple of close friends and fellow combat veterans to peacefully march and protest in a stand against the fascism and criminality of this administration.

The legendary Dropkick Murphys thundered the crowd with unapologetic protest songs, and the mesmerizing Earth to Eve graced us with somber and prophetic ballads (and was gracious enough to take a selfie with me).

High-powered speakers—from representative Al Green to former Capitol Police officer Michael Fanone to friend and former Green Beret Anthony Aguilar—delivered powerful messages.

We are the Resistance.
This weekend, along with two fellow warriors and brothers, I attended the #RemovetheRegime rally at the capital of the people where thousands came together in solidarity against the fascist takeover of our nation. Proudly, many fellow veterans also answered the call.

THIS is fascism. THIS is how democracy crumbles. We are far past the inflection point — this regime must be removed.

I mostly ignored this Veterans Day. Given the state of our nation and society and my own journey and experiences as a veteran, especially this past year, I struggle with the very meaning of my service and sacrifice and that of so many before me.

It was great to join highly respected friend and colleague Anthony Aguilar on the new Seriously Sara podcast along with host and first-generation Palestinian-American Sara Haddad. We had an important conversation on the atrocities in Gaza and America's complicity across political spectrums…

The truth hurts—but we must always look inward. Or else what does it mean to be the leader of the free world? My commentary for @theintercept.com on @amnesty.org’s report on the U.S. campaign in Yemen under Trump and Hegseth and the killing of 61 migrants in a U.S. strike.

Is Amazon complicit in the atrocities in Gaza? Even as they declare a commitment to preventing “adverse human rights impacts”?

I spoke with @theintercept.com on the ongoing U.S. strikes in the Caribbean now creeping into the Pacific, the Trump administration’s disregard for both the rule of law and restraint in the use of military force, and Hegseth’s dismantling of civilian harm mitigation efforts…

Netanyahu again: “A tragic mishap.”

There's a lot to break down in Hegseth's performative address to our military leadership and Trump's equally concerning rhetoric that followed. In my commentary for @politico.com, I focus on their many dangerous assertions on military use of force and rules of engagement.

In the wake of Netanyahu's recent address to the UN and his shameful deflections of Israel's conduct in Gaza, we will continue to bring light to the atrocities.

Proud to have worked with @reuters.com in this comprehensive investigation into the August 25 strike on Nasser Hospital…
