From Gemini:

While private companies like Tesla and various solar installers are now mainstream, the early high-risk R&D was publicly funded. Governments use "feed-in tariffs" and tax credits to create an artificial market, which allowed costs to drop significantly.

And yet the American people could have stopped all of this in 2024 - yet, knowing who he is, they decided to take a bet on Trump again. That is when most of is in Europe had to accept that the issue is not Trump (he is just the symptom) - it is the apathy and egocentrism of too many Americans.

Talk to people who voted for Trump - ask them if this is what they voted for and suggest to them that together we can change this.

That is the case in countries like Australia and Luxembourg.

In stead of compulsory voting, the better electoral systems reflect the diversity of voter opinions, e.g. proportional representation in countries like Netherlands and Ireland which results in the power held by the larger sensible centre.

Whether the vote is mandatory or not, the assumption is always that the electorate makes an informed decision, i.e. have basic civics to make a reasoned decision. If not, then that could be the root cause, however, my guess is many who didn't want to vote for Trump, abstained rather than for Harris.

Problem is voters can't say they did not know this was coming... They just did not bother to go and vote.

The lesson for all democracies... Never take the importance of voting for granted. Understand that citizenship is first and foremost about collective responsibility, not goodies-for-me.

I guess you are asking how many voters, including those who did not bother to vote in 2024, will take responsibility for the sh!tshow they caused...
