More than that, revolution against the most powerful military of all time with an insecure authoritarian at the helm when the majority of voters supported him less than two years ago is pretty damn costly, and

I’m not convinced we’re to that point. I think our institutional processes are flawed and fragile but not yet entirely broken.

I get immigrating, believe me I’ve looked into it and hope to do so someday. I’m also not saying that under no circumstances should we revolt. I hope it doesn’t come to that, but maybe that’s what we’ll need to do.

Maybe Trump continuing to be a sore loser will keep him from helping Republicans win in the mid-terms, actually. 🤞

But so often it's just "unity and I shouldn't need to explain further," and then, if you're skeptical, you're the problem because we should at least because to agree to come together.

"Come together as the church." Are we okay with "the church" meaning "people actively hating certain groups of people?" Because when that starts happening, I'm out at least until it stops.

Even unifying around identity generally doesn't work for me these days. "Come together as Americans." Okay, but what do Americans stand for?

However, so often I've encountered "unity" being code for "stop having a problem with my beliefs or actions and join my team." There can be a shockingly thin line between "We're too divided" and "People who disagree with me are wrong."

Also, the old friend literally said "If you see it from this particular angle, you can see he was clearly hit and that it was intentional." So ignore all the other 11 angles, which are a lot clearer.

Literally just logged out of another social media site after seeing an old friend share this exact link in this exact way, because I have an aversion to arguing with people online (though am perfectly comfortable calling out face-to-face). I clicked the link and though "this... shows nothing."

Still perhaps the most disturbing part is that many Americans — most of my neighbors — would vote for him all over again. They do’t know and don’t care.
